Set Yourself Up For Success
What can you be doing during your 2 week Easter break to make sure you are fully prepared for next term? Whether you’ve got A-levels, prediction exams or the UCAT to worry about, here are 3 things you need to be doing to set yourself up for success.
Actively plan rest
If you are over-working and not actually letting yourself rest properly, you are putting yourself at a huge risk of burnout. If you really want to make sure you are working effectively, take regular breaks between studying and let yourself enjoy sometime with family and friends too. This is really important to give you that mental break from your work. Make sure you are actively planning time
Talk to yourself
This may sound odd, but this probably one of my favourite methods for revising. Better known as the Feynman technique, this is where you imagine that you are explaining the concept out aloud to someone else, who has no prior understanding of the topic. This is one of the fastest ways to get through a large amount of content, whilst using active recall. Using this study method will make your life so much easier.
Create an exam manual for yourself
This means you need to identify your silent weaknesses and learn from them. There will be some topics that you think you know completely, but when doing practice questions you lose marks on. Make sure you keep a track record of the mistakes you are making. From these mistakes you can create a tailored exam manual just for yourself. Include notes and mark schemes for the topics and questions you get wrong. This will help you refine those smaller mistakes and keep improving.
Using these different tips will help to make your Easter break enjoyable whilst making sure you’re getting prepared for upcoming exams!
